Carol Hughes
As a child, Carol Hughes spent a good deal of time standing on her head, looking at the world upside down and wondering what it would be like to walk across the ceiling. Later, after she'd grown up and moved to America, she remembered how the upside down world used to fascinate her. These memories were the starting point for her first story Toots and the Upside Down House, and that was when she realized that writing stories could take her to all the impossible to get to places that she'd always wanted to visit when she was young. Carol now lives in San Francisco with her husband and two daughters and spends rather a lot of time imagining what it would be like to be a fairy. One wonders if this is a fitting occupation for a grown woman.
